The Warsash Association is for ex-cadets and staff of the School of Navigation, Warsash, University of Southampton and its successor establishments. Founded by Captain G. W. Wakeford MBE in 1935, it has produced a steady stream of officers serving in the British Merchant Navy and overseas fleets. Over the succeeding years the establishment has evolved into the Warsash Maritime Academy, a faculty of Southampton Solent University. The faculty offers training and consultancy services to the international shipping and off-shore oil industries. |

New Warsash Association website: As a key part of Project Relaunch our new website is in the process of going online in July! So apart from a few items our All Hands website is now in hibernation. It will however remain online for the foreseable future due to the editions of All hands magazines it contains. Please vist our new website without delay where, if you are a member, you will already have or will soon have access to all sections of the website. If eligible and you wish to join but are not yet a member you can use the online Membership application process. The first online application from Thomas Allsop living in Venezuela has already been received. |
Silver Jubilee Celebration Oct 18 - 18 Oct 2009: Go to our new website for details of our Silver Jubilee event in October. If you have online access as a member visit the Events calendar section where all relevant information and forms are displayed. If not yet a member you can see most of the information via a link in the left side panel. |
New Australian Branch: There has been an extremely positive response to the recent establishment our first overseas branch in Australia. As at 15th July over 35 members have joined the Branch. An interim committee to get the branch underway and operate under the constitution of WA UK was set up comprising Alan Knott (Chairman), Peter Isherwood (Secretary) and Neil Martin (New Member Sec/Treasurer). They will hold office until such time as an election can be held. One big benefit has been the introduction of a more practical annual subscription arrangement. On behalf of members around the world hearty congratulations to all Branch on this exciting event. The WA Committee is confident you will go from strength to strength. |
